The Beautify PiHi Traffic Box Art Project is funded by a City of Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit Community Impact Grant! This project is managed by the Piedmont Heights Civic Association (PHCA) in collaboration with the Piedmont Heights Community Improvement Foundation (PHCIF) and Piedmont Heights Alliance (PiHi Alliance).
This project will allow the transformation of two blank traffic signal boxes into signature pieces of local art that tell the story of Piedmont Heights and create memorable moments of joy as residents and visitors move through this historic Atlanta neighborhood. Check out the outdoor art already in Piedmont Heights, thanks to Lauren Pallotta Stumberg (@thinkgreatly) and a City of Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs Neighborhood Arts Grant in 2018!
Piedmont Heights deeply appreciates our Artist Selection Panel, comprised of Sharon Dennehy of Notch8 Gallery, Mark Karelson of Mason Fine Art, and Spalding Nix of Spalding Nix Fine Art. And special thanks to Jennifer Ohme of IdealDesign for her guidance and consultation during this project.
In September, Charity and Angie will be installing their beautiful creations in Piedmont Heights! Charity will be painting the traffic box by the Chevron gas station at the corner of Monroe Dr. & Piedmont Rd., and Angie will be painting the traffic box off the I-85 Access Road next to Cirque Daquiri Bar across from Fire Station #29. See these locations in more detail. Learn more about these talented artists on their websites and on Instagram:
